Celebrating Beltane

Lay Leader: David Donahue
Beltane is one of the four major Sabbats in the Pagan/Wiccan calendar. It marked the beginning of "the light half of the year" in the ancient Celtic traditions of Western Europe, and is probably the second biggest holiday in both the Celtic and Neo-Pagan traditions (Samhain being first). It honors the sacred marriage of the Goddess (Earth Mother) and God (Sky Father). Frankly it's all about Love - erotic Love. Nature's honeymoon begins today. There will be a maypole dance and all are invited to participate. Wear your springtime finest; flower crowns and ribbons are very appropriate. Come celebrate the beauty and wonder of earth’s reawakening.

The Transient and the Permanent
in Unitarian Universalism

Rev Paul Langston-Daley

What is the center of our faith, what is truly permanent? The title of this sermon is borrowed from Theodore Parker who, in May 1841 preached his famous sermon, “The Transient and the Permanent in Christianity”. Today we explore what is permanent in our tradition and what is transient.

Getting to know you

Lay Leader: Mary Ryan
As part of community building it is good to get to know each other better. With this in mind we will share information and ideas about our lives and have fun at the same time. This will be an interactive service. Come prepared to learn about your fellow Unitarians and find out how alike and also how different we all are.

Third Sunday potluck will follow the service.

Peaceful Planet

Rev. Paul Langston-Daley

It is said that in recorded human history there has only been a total of 26 years of peace on the planet. Is it possible to have peace? Or are human beings naturally violent? I believe the first step in changing the world is cultivating peace in our own hearts and lives. It is possible: Jesus, Buddha, the Dali Lama, Gandhi and others all have led the way and offer the hope of peaceful interactions.
