Boyertown Unity Days

The UU Action Committee participated in the October 11, 2009 Unity Days in Boyertown. The UUFP was a sponsor for the event which is sponsored by the Boyertown Unity Coalition and the Boyertown YMCA. It was generated after a series of racial incidents in the Boyertown area. The Boyertown Area Unity Coalition is a grass-roots human rights organization whose mission is to create and nurture a caring community climate in which respect for all persons young and old is cultivated and in which bigotry is rejected.

The "No Place for Hate" festival and march is for all ages and promotes tolerance and understanding. Attending Unity Days were Rev. Dave Farrington, Rod Hill, Maggie Hill, Lisa Hill, Albert Jenkin, Mary Alsayegh and Carla Johnson. We were pleased to be able to talk about Unitarian Universalism and give out our free trade coffee to the people there.
